When it comes to all things music, Elspeth has her finger firmly on the pulse. She is currently presenting Radio X Chilled, winding down the weekdays with the biggest and best in laid-back rock and indie from 10pm Monday- Thursday. She is also a music journalist for The Metro and Clash Magazine, DJs at festivals and corporate events and presents online music TV show This Feeling TV.
Her radio experience started at Hoxton Radio when she was invited on as a fashion expert. She quickly found herself at the helm, producing and presenting her own indie music show The Alternative Hour, sponsored by Bushmills Whiskey. From there she has been taken on by Global Radio and is a regular voice on the network. Weekend Early Breakfast on Radio X is her new show, getting everyone up at the weekend and it’s going down a storm.
Her DJ experience spans genres from indie and rock to club classics, Motown, party and Old School Garage. With her own Pioneer decks and software Elspeth DJs across a variety of events including the Radio X Summer sessions rooftop parties at Global, store openings, music festivals up and down the country and as the resident DJ at This Feeling indie club nights.
Alongside her on air work, Elspeth is a music writer and presenter for The Metro writing about and interviewing all the must see bands for the summer festivals, whilst discovering and reporting on new music in the rock and roll scene. She also contributes a weekly post to Candid Magazine’s expansive digital music section, keeping readers attuned to what’s new, sonically.
Elspeth started her career as a fashion stylist at ITV This Morning, and from there she landed freelance fashion blogger roles for Reveal Magazine and shopping centres countrywide. She then went on to report on all the off court action, fashion and celebrity parties from the Wimbledon Championships for Vogue magazine online, plus styled and presented live fashion events from The Clothes Show to Britain’s Next Top Model. Her latest fashion venture has been hosting the Wella Trendvision Hair Awards 2019, touring the UK and hosting the grand final at The Roundhouse.
Her combined love with fashion and all things music has seen her hosting Gordon Smart’s infamous indie club night This Feeling and fronting the online show for The Sun, plus hosting Celebrity Soccer 6 as part of the role. This role has recently been reprised as she joins Gordon Smart as host of TFTV for Red Stripe, as the roving reporter interviewing bands and co-hosting the live show.
Elspeth has showed off her sporting knowledge hosting the online Betsafe Premier League Football show alongside Arsenal legend Anders Limpar and ITV’s Anna Williamson. She also hosted the Adidas campaign for the New Zealand All Blacks, interviewing the team and covering the Rugby World Cup. Most recently she was the on-court announcer and host for the British Open Wheelchair Championships airing on BBC Sport Red Button.
With her fresh face and vivacious personality, Elspeth has also modelled for various companies, fronting commercial campaigns for companies as diverse as TMobile, Ted Baker, TGI Friday’s and McCains to name a few.
Elspeth’s talents don’t stop there as she recently completed a PGCE in primary teaching and masters in Child Development. Elspeth has extensive knowledge on how children like to learn, what they enjoy and how to interact with them. She has worked with children on various projects from styling to choreographing, whilst hosting events for children such as Kidtropolis at the Excel centre. Elspeth has presented fashion & beauty shows for Young and Pure teen beauty, Mothercare and many other parenting brands. She hosted a roadshow for the Disney Channel’s Fashion Wizards, and teamed up with Michaela Strachan to co-host a live Jungle Fever animal show in shopping centre’s nationwide.
Away from the limelight her interests lie in sport, especially running; she recently ran the London Marathon, raising £8000 for charity. She is also currently undertaking a diploma in Nutrition to coincide with her healthy lifestyle. Another love of Elspeth's is animals; she has a diploma in Animal Behaviour and has spent time volunteering at the Celia Hammond Animal Trust helping to rehabilitate abused and neglected animals. She combined her two loves earlier this year, running the Royal Parks half marathon and raising money for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
When Elspeth was 22 and in the throes of her new media career, she was struck suddenly by a brain hemorrhage and stroke, resulting from an aneurysm and left close to death. With 3 months in intensive care resulting in open brain surgery and radiotherapy that meant she lost a lot of her hair, this is where Elspeth found her inner strength and positivity. Even though being told that she would also now be visually impaired and registered disabled, she decided this would not only not stop her, she would make the most of life and spread the positivity she had found within her. In the wake of her illness she has been able to help other people dealing with similar brain injuries and illness, making their difficult journey a bit easier and becoming a source of inspiration to get better. Now, she has fought against the odds to have a thriving career.
